Qualified Psychologist – Term Time Only – Specialist Education

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 DOE (pro rata’d to term time only)

Remit

Compass Associates are working with one of the country’s leading providers of specialist education, to recruit a qualified Psychologist to join their specialist school in West Yorkshire, on a term time only basis.

 

The school provides focused, individualised and therapeutic support and education, for children and young people, who have a range of backgrounds including complex trauma, attachment difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and SEMH needs. There are extensive facilities on site including a purpose-built vocational training centre, therapy spaces, sensory rooms, sensory garden and rebound therapy.

 

You’d hold a clinical caseload with whom you’d carry out bespoke assessments, formulate therapy plans and deliver interventions, whilst working within the wider Therapy Team which includes a Lead Clinician, Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist and Assistant Psychologists. In addition to your clinical role, you will have the opportunity to be involved in service development, developing the therapy team/provision and embedding a holistic and trauma-informed approach.

The school is divided into four sites (all within a 10-minute drive of each other), which are commutable from:  Bradford, Wakefield, Leeds, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Garforth, Castleford, Barnsley, Holmfirth, Pontefract, Sheffield, Goole and nearby towns.

 

Candidate

The successful candidate must have:

  • A Doctorate level Degree in Clinical, Counselling, Forensic or Educational Psychology  
  • HCPC registration
  • Car and UK driving licence
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, autism and neurodiversity

 

Interview Process

Informal conversation with the Regional Clinical Lead, followed by a formal interview on site.
