We are working in partnership with a long-established, values-led care provider to appoint a Registered Care Manager for a Small elderly care home near Clacton-on-Sea Essex.

 

This is a backfill appointment following the promotion of the current postholder. They remain in post temporarily, ensuring a fully supported and structured handover for the successful candidate.

The Organisation

Our client is a long-established care provider with multiple services across the UK, including residential care homes and independent living settings.

 

The home operates under a dual-manager model, where the Registered Care Manager focuses exclusively on care delivery and CQC compliance, while a Business Manager oversees hospitality and commercial elements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations and governance frameworks
  • Lead, supervise, appraise and develop the care team
  • Manage disciplinary and grievance processes where required
  • Oversee person-centred care planning using a structured dementia-focused platform
  • Work approximately 60% supernumerary / 40% on the floor (flexible as required) Embed and model the organisation’s values and standards
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Manager and report to the Operations Manager

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum two years’ experience as a Registered Care Manager (or strong Deputy ready to step up)
  • Eligible for or currently holding CQC Registered Manager status
  • Minimum Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Level 5 preferred or willingness to complete – funded)
  • Strong background in elderly care, ideally residential or dementia services
  • Experience managing staff performance, supervision, disciplinaries and grievances
  • Confident using electronic care planning systems
  • Demonstrable career stability
  • Comfortable operating within a split management structure focused solely on care

Location

Near Clacton-on-Sea commutable from Frinton-on-Sea, Walton on the Naze, Brightlingsea, Colchester and Harwich. Relocation support available for the right candidate.
