Compass Associates is an award-winning, UK specialist Health and Social Care Recruitment Consultancy, and we are delighted to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a brand new supported living service in Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a values-led leader who wants to make a real difference to the lives of the adults they support.

The Role

 

This relaxed and welcoming home gives the people living there a space of their own and the independence to make their own choices, with support always there when they need it. There is a busy social calendar for people to join in with as they wish, from trips to the nearby beach and pub lunches to nights out at the theatre.

 

Friends and family are welcome to visit for parties, coffee afternoons and bingo nights, the week ends with a home-cooked Sunday roast, and everyone plays a part in running their home. As Registered Manager you will lead the team and protect this warm, person-led culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and motivate the service team, ensuring high standards of person-centred support are delivered 24/7
  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, including rotas, budgets and occupancy
  • Ensure the service is fully compliant with CQC regulations and be the registered manager (or apply to register) with the CQC
  • Promote independence, choice and control for every person supported, working closely with individuals, families, commissioners and health and social care professionals
  • Oversee the development, review and delivery of person-centred support plans, risk assessments and positive behaviour support approaches
  • Champion safeguarding, ensuring concerns are identified, escalated and managed appropriately
  • Recruit, induct, supervise, appraise and develop team members, and manage performance and attendance
  • Maintain accurate records, and carry out regular audits, quality checks and health and safety reviews
  • Build strong links with the local community to create meaningful opportunities for the people supported

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing a service supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
  • CQC Registered Manager status, or the ability and willingness to register with the CQC
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards it
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and person-centred practice
  • Demonstrable experience of leading, developing and inspiring a team
  • Excellent communication, organisational and budget management skills
  • A values-led approach: kind, committed and creative in how you lead
