Speech and Language Therapist (SALT)

 

Part-Time | 15 Hours per Week | Term-Time Only | Kent | £14,000 - £16,000 DOE

 

Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a leading specialist education provider to recruit a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist. This rewarding role will support two well-established specialist schools in Kent, located just a few minutes apart, providing therapeutic support to children and young people with additional needs.

 

Working 15 hours per week during term time, this role offers an excellent opportunity for therapists seeking flexibility while making a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

 

About the Role

As part of a multidisciplinary therapy team, you will work closely with education staff and fellow therapists to deliver high-quality speech and language support tailored to each pupil's developmental needs.

 

You will be part of a regional therapy team comprising Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychotherapists, supported by experienced therapy leaders who understand the realities of clinical practice within education.

You will receive:

  • Professional supervision from the Regional Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Day-to-day support from the Head Teacher.
  • Ongoing guidance from experienced therapy leadership.

 

Essential Requirements

  • HCPC registered as a Speech and Language Therapist (registration must already be in place)
  • Works confidently as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Is enthusiastic about supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Can work independently while managing their own caseload
  • Is willing to travel between the two school sites when required

Applications are welcomed from:

  • Newly qualified Speech and Language Therapists who can demonstrate initiative and independent working
  • Therapists with or without previous paediatric experience

A driving licence is a requirement due to occasional travel between school sites and attendance at regional meetings and training. However, applicants who live locally and can meet the travel requirements through alternative means are still encouraged to apply.
