Speech and Language Therapist - Specialist School
Greater Manchester
£40,000 - £56,000 per annum DOE
Full-time, permanent
Compass Associates is working in partnership with a specialist school in Greater Manchester to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist to join its established clinical team.
Following growth, the organisation is expanding its therapy provision to support a growing number of children and young people with complex and diverse needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for passionate clinicians who want to make a meaningful difference within a specialist educational setting, working collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider team to embed therapeutic support throughout the school day.
The Setting
The school supports children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD and complex speech, language and communication needs.
The school takes a collaborative, whole-school approach, ensuring therapy is integrated into pupils' everyday learning and development rather than delivered solely through traditional clinic-based sessions.
The Role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will work across the school, providing a combination of universal, targeted and individualised support.
Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individualised therapy and interventions to support pupils' development, communication, sensory regulation and independence.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff to embed therapeutic strategies throughout the curriculum and wider school environment.
- Providing advice, consultation and training to staff to help them support pupils' needs effectively.
- Supporting specific classes and groups through targeted interventions and specialist input.
- Assessing pupils' needs, contributing to appropriate intervention plans and monitoring progress.
- Working alongside the existing clinical team and wider school staff to deliver a consistent, child-centred approach.
About You
We are keen to speak with HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapists who have experience working with children and young people with additional needs.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working within a school or educational setting.
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEND.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience supporting autistic children and young people with complex communication needs, including pre-verbal and non-verbal pupils, would be particularly beneficial.
Interview Process
