Ward Manager | Acute Mental Health Hospital

Low Secure Ward

Full Time Opportunity | 37.5 Hours

Salary: £47,375 - £53,329 (DoE)

Overview

At Compass Associates, we’re proud to be partnering with one of the UK’s leading and most respected providers of Acute Mental Health services. Specialising in inpatient care for both Adult and CAMHS populations, they operate a nationwide network of hospitals focused on areas such as Forensic Mental Health, PICU, Eating Disorders, and Learning Disability care.

Together we are seeking a dynamic and experienced nurse leader to join their team as the new Ward Manager, taking the reins of their 10-bed low secure ward for male patients. You will be responsible for managing a diverse MDT during your shifts, which, at full occupancy, consists of around 20 staff members, including Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

As the Ward Manager, you’ll need to bring prior leadership experience—whether you’re a Deputy Ward Manager ready to step up into your first Ward Manager role, or an experienced Ward Manager seeking a new challenge or a fresh working environment. To be considered for this position, you’ll need at least two years of experience as a Deputy Ward Manager.

You’ll need a proven track record in change management, staff supervision, appraisals, and supporting CPD requirements. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all team members complete their mandatory internal and external training as required

As the Ward Manager, you will work closely with the Director of Clinical Services, who will be your direct line manager, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the service, which consists of just 18 beds. As the service is more focused on therapeutic pathways than being nurse-led, this presents an exciting opportunity for you to develop a new set of skills and expand your knowledge.
