Salary: £15.00 per hour (Circa £37,440 per annum)

Contracted Hours: 48 hours per week | 7:45am – 8:00pm | Alternate Weekends

Overview

Compass Associates are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and premium care provider to recruit a Senior Care Assistant (Days) for a luxury residential care home in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Care Assistant to join a modern, purpose-built care home that has been designed to deliver exceptional standards of care within a luxury environment.

 

The home provides high-quality residential and dementia care for older adults and has been built around a person-centred philosophy, combining outstanding hospitality with innovative technology to create an exceptional living environment for residents.

 

Working alongside the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in leading the day shift, supporting the wider care team and ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate and person-centred care every day.

 

This role will particularly suit an experienced Senior Care Assistant who understands the expectations of working within a premium residential care environment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their personal presentation, communicates confidently and professionally with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals, and understands that delivering exceptional care goes hand-in-hand with delivering an outstanding customer experience.

 

As a visible leader on shift, you'll naturally lead by example, uphold the highest professional standards and help embed a positive, values-led culture throughout the home.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the day shift, ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.
  • Safely administer medication in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Allocate workloads and provide leadership, guidance and support to Care Assistants throughout the shift.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care whilst promoting residents' dignity, independence and choice.
  • Complete, review and maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments and daily documentation.
  • Liaise effectively with residents' families, GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Support Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA), Best Interest decisions and other care planning processes where appropriate.
  • Monitor staff performance throughout the shift, ensuring care is delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting professionalism, accountability and teamwork.
  • Contribute towards creating a welcoming, luxury environment where residents receive an exceptional standard of care and service.

Shift Pattern

  • 48 hours per week.
  • 7:45am – 8:00pm long day shifts.
  • 15-minute paid handover included.
  • Paid breaks.
  • Alternate weekends required.
  • Permanent day contract.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant within an elderly residential or dementia care setting.
  • Experience administering medication.
  • Experience leading or supervising a team of Care Assistants.
  • Previous experience working within a premium or luxury care environment would be highly advantageous.
  • Professional appearance with excellent personal presentation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build strong relationships with residents, relatives and professionals.
  • A genuine passion for delivering hospitality-led, person-centred care.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable but not essential, provided you're willing to work towards the qualification.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding, medication management, care planning and CQC standards.
  • Experience using electronic care planning systems such as Nourish or similar would be advantageous.
  • Stable employment history within the elderly care sector preferred.
