Care Home Manager | Nursing & Dementia Care Home

Location: West Sussex
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + £5,000 Welcome Bonus
Contract: Full-time, Permanent 

 

Remit

Compass Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and reputable care provider to recruit an experienced Home Manager for a medium-sized nursing home. The home provides high-quality nursing care and is situated within a retirement village setting.

 

The service is currently in a strong operational position, benefiting from positive CQC ratings, healthy occupancy levels, and established referral pathways. This is a key leadership opportunity, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to take full operational responsibility for the home, supported by a

stable senior leadership structure.

 

The Home Manager will be expected to operate with a high level of autonomy, ensuring excellent standards of care, sustained commercial performance, and positive engagement with residents, families, and external stakeholders. This role will suit an experienced leader who can maintain momentum within an already well-performing nursing home environment.

 

The Candidate

Our client is seeking a confident, established operator with a proven track record of successfully managing nursing homes to a high standard. Extensive experience overseeing nursing services is essential, although a nursing qualification is not required.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate longevity in previous roles and bring strong regulatory and operational experience. You will be a resilient leader, capable of maintaining stability during organisational transition, while continuing to drive quality and performance.

 

You will be a strong communicator, comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams, managing on-call responsibilities, and maintaining a visible presence within the home, including occasional evenings and weekends where required.

 

Requirements – Essential

  • Proven experience as a Home Manager within a nursing home setting
  • Extensive experience overseeing nursing services 
  • Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory compliance
  • Experience maintaining occupancy and performance within a stable, well-performing service

Interview Process

Stage One – Telephone pre-screen call with Recruitment Team 

Stage Two – Interview & Assessment with Area Director

Stage Three – Final interview with Managing Director
