Salary: £28,177.50 per annum (£14.45 per hour) + On-Call Payments

Overview

Compass Associates are delighted to be partnering with a well-established domiciliary and extra care provider in the recruitment of an experienced Care Supervisor / Care Coordinator for one of their services based in Birkenhead.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive and compassionate care professional who enjoys balancing office-based coordination with frontline operational support. Working alongside an experienced management team, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is delivered across both domiciliary care services and an extra care scheme.

 

The successful candidate will primarily be based within the office, coordinating care delivery for a busy service providing approximately 600 hours of care each week, whilst also acting as the designated Care Supervisor for a nearby Extra Care scheme, carrying out regular visits to support quality assurance, staff supervision and service delivery.

About the Role

As a Care Supervisor / Care Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate domiciliary care services to ensure safe, effective and person-centred care delivery.
  • Manage staff rotas and workforce planning to maintain continuity of care.
  • Act as the designated Care Supervisor for a nearby Extra Care scheme, carrying out daily quality and support visits.
  • Support and supervise care staff through regular spot checks, observations and guidance.
  • Complete service user reviews and ensure care plans remain accurate and up to date.
  • Respond efficiently to changes in care requirements and staffing availability.
  • Build positive relationships with service users, families and healthcare professionals.
  • Support investigations, incident reporting and complaint management where required.
  • Maintain accurate records using internal scheduling and care management systems.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider operations team to ensure the smooth running of the service.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

The branch provides approximately 600 hours of care each week, with care services operating between 7:00am and 10:00pm.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule care staff across domiciliary and extra care services.
  • Produce and manage staff rotas to ensure all care calls are fully covered.
  • Carry out spot checks, competency observations and staff supervisions.
  • Complete service user reviews and support care planning.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance visits within the Extra Care service.
  • Liaise with service users, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
  • Arrange emergency cover and respond effectively to last-minute changes.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation.
  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operational running of the service.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Care Coordinator, Care Supervisor or Senior Care Assistant within domiciliary or extra care services.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
  • Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
  • Business insurance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience managing staff rotas and coordinating care services.
  • Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities.
  • Good IT skills and experience using care planning or scheduling systems.
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

On-Call Requirements

The successful candidate will participate in a shared 1 in 3 weekend on-call rota, paid at £26 per day.

On-call is managed remotely from home, although there may be occasional requirements to provide operational support during weekends in the event of staff sickness or emergency service needs.
