Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Hours: Full Time – 45 hours per week – Including alternate weekends (Shifts include a mix of office hours and floor-based support where required)
 

A well-respected elderly nursing and dementia care home in Sheffield, known for its welcoming atmosphere and high care standards, is now seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day operations.

 

As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in leading the care team, maintaining clinical excellence, and ensuring that residents receive outstanding person-centred care. You’ll also act as a key liaison with families and external healthcare professionals, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

 

You will deputise for the Home Manager in their absence, helping to maintain smooth running of the home across both care and operational areas.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and maintaining high clinical standards of care
  • Leading and supporting care staff across all shifts
  • Preparing rotas to always ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and updating care plans in line with changes
  • Acting as a primary contact for families and healthcare professionals
  • Taking a hands-on approach, including covering some shifts as required (days or nights)

 

Requirements:

This is an excellent opportunity for a current Deputy Manager or a Senior Nurse/Team Leader looking to progress. You’ll have strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for elderly care.

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior care role (Deputy or Team Leader level)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Level 5 Diploma desirable or willingness to work towards)
  • Strong clinical leadership and mentoring skills
  • Experience of supporting people living with dementia
  • Good understanding of CQC standards and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
