Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a rapidly growing provider of elderly care, who are looking to appoint an experienced Clinical Support Manager to support a portfolio of care homes across Kent.

This is a newly created position and represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior clinical professional to step into a role with genuine influence across multiple services. You will work closely with Home Managers and senior operational teams, providing clinical support, identifying areas for improvement and helping services maintain consistently high standards of care.

The role would suit an experienced Regional Clinical Manager, Regional Clinical Lead, Clinical Governance Manager or Regional Support Manager who is looking to take on a broader portfolio and have a direct impact on quality across a growing organisation.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and support across the portfolio, working alongside individual homes to ensure residents receive safe, effective and person-centred care.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Visiting care homes regularly to provide clinical support and guidance to management and nursing teams.

  • Reviewing clinical audits, incidents, safeguarding concerns and other quality information to identify areas requiring attention.

  • Supporting Home Managers and Clinical Leads with complex clinical and governance matters.

  • Providing guidance around care planning, medication, safeguarding, risk management and infection control.

  • Supporting homes with CQC requirements, inspections and the implementation of improvement plans.

  • Identifying recurring issues across services and working with senior teams to put sustainable improvements in place.

  • Coaching and developing clinical leaders to improve confidence, standards and accountability.

  • Working alongside operational and quality teams to monitor progress and ensure agreed actions are completed.

  • Providing additional support to services where there are emerging clinical or quality concerns.

The position requires regular travel to the care homes, so the successful candidate must be comfortable working across multiple services and being hands-on when required.

About You

We are looking for a confident clinical leader who has a strong understanding of elderly care and can provide both support and professional challenge to senior teams.

You will ideally have:

  • An active NMC Pin as an RGN

  • Significant experience within elderly nursing

  • Previous experience working across multiple care homes or services would be highly advantageous.

  • A strong understanding of CQC, clinical governance, safeguarding and quality assurance.

  • Experience using audits, incidents and quality information to identify areas for improvement.

  • Previous experience supporting or developing Home Managers, Deputy Managers or Clinical Leads.

  • The confidence to challenge poor practice and ensure appropriate action is taken.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with teams at all levels.

  • A supportive but accountable management style.

  • The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and manage a varied portfolio.

  • A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly.

You will need to be someone who is comfortable working at both a strategic and operational level. While the role involves oversight across a number of homes, you will also need to be willing to get involved directly when a service requires additional clinical support.

Why This Opportunity?

This is a newly created role within a growing organisation, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to shape the position and make a genuine difference across a sizeable portfolio of services.

You will have the backing of senior operational leadership, while having considerable autonomy to identify areas of risk, support improvement and help develop the clinical leadership within the homes.
