Compass Associates are proud to be exclusively partnering with one of Uk's largest care providers to appoint an exceptional Commissioning Home Manager for a brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home opening in January 2027.
This is far more than a Home Manager position.
It's a rare opportunity to commission a premium medium size Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite Care Home from the ground up, creating an exceptional service from the very first brick through to becoming one of the leading care homes in West Sussex.
Designed with luxury, hospitality and resident experience at its heart, the home will offer beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, elegant dining experiences, café facilities, cinema room, private dining, hair and nail salon, landscaped gardens and outstanding communal spaces, setting a new benchmark for elderly care within the region.
As Commissioning Home Manager, you'll have the autonomy to shape every aspect of the home's future. From recruiting your entire team and embedding a positive culture to driving occupancy, preparing for CQC registration and establishing Hollybank as the provider of choice within the local community, you'll lead one of the most exciting commissioning projects currently available in the sector.
Throughout the journey, you'll be supported by an experienced operational leadership team alongside dedicated quality, recruitment and commissioning specialists, giving you everything needed to deliver a successful launch and long-term operational success.

You'll take full ownership of the commissioning journey, including:
- Recruiting, onboarding and developing a high-performing team from day one.

The Candidate
We're looking for an inspirational and commercially astute leader with the experience and confidence to commission a new luxury care home and build a service recognised for outstanding care.
You'll already have experience managing a large elderly care service and will be passionate about creating exceptional resident experiences whilst developing high-performing teams.
Previous commissioning experience would be highly advantageous, although experienced Home Managers with a proven record of successfully opening new units, driving occupancy or delivering outstanding operational performance are also encouraged to apply.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Home Manager experience within elderly nursing and/or residential care.
- Minimum four years' management experience within elderly care.
- Experience managing services of 50+ beds.
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN preferred).
- Strong track record of achieving Good or Outstanding CQC ratings.
- Excellent commercial understanding, including occupancy growth and financial performance.
- Proven ability to recruit, develop and retain high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and inspection readiness.
- Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Previous commissioning experience is highly desirable.

Interview Process
The recruitment process will consist of the following stages:
Stage One
- Initial telephone conversation.
- Online psychometric and situational judgement assessment.
- Competency-based first-stage interview.
Stage Two
- Business case presentation.
- Final interview with senior leadership.
Location
The home is easily commutable from Chichester, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Arundel, Worthing, Rustington, Yapton, Barnham, Felpham, Angmering, Ford, Portsmouth, Havant and the surrounding areas.
