Compass Associates are proud to be supporting a well-established national care provider in the recruitment of a Deputy Home Manager for one of their residential care homes based in Newark. The home provides high-quality residential, dementia, and specialist elderly care, and is part of a provider known for its strong values and commitment to kindness-led care.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Care professional looking to take on a leadership role within a well-supported care home environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Home Manager, supporting the day-to-day management of the service, while ensuring residents receive outstanding, person-centred care.
In the absence of the Home Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing the home, supporting staff, maintaining care standards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within an elderly residential or dementia care home, ideally in a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, or Senior Care role. You will be confident leading shifts, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring care delivery aligns with regulatory standards and best practice.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being visible within the home, supporting staff, building positive relationships with residents and families, and promoting a culture of kindness and compassion across the team.
A strong understanding of care planning, medication management, compliance, and staff supervision will be essential to succeed in this position.
Requirements – Essential
- Previous experience working within an elderly residential or dementia care home
- Experience in a Deputy Manager, Senior Care, or Team Leader position
- Strong understanding of care planning, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance
- Experience supporting staff, supervising shifts, and maintaining care standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day management of the home
- Take responsibility for the service in the Home Manager’s absence
- Lead shifts and supervise the care team to ensure high standards of care delivery
- Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and supervision
- Ensure care plans, documentation, and medication management are maintained to a high standard
- Support with audits, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
