National Deputy Lead Nurse (RMN / RNLD) – Adult Residential Services

£55,000 - £60,000 per annum + £3,600 car allowance and Mileage!
Home-based (remote) with national travel as required (2-3 days per week)

Overview:

Compass Associates are proud to be partnering with a national provider of specialist community and residential services for adults with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and acquired brain injury (ABI).

This is a new opportunity for a highly experienced, NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) to join the Adult Clinical Services Team in a senior capacity as Deputy National Lead Nurse.

The postholder will provide specialist nursing and safeguarding leadership, ensuring safe, person-centred, and trauma-informed care across multiple services nationwide. Working alongside the National Lead Nurse for Safeguarding and Clinical Director, this is a pivotal role driving quality, compliance, and clinical excellence throughout the organisation.

 

Location:

Home-based role with national travel as required. You can expect to be visiting the adult residential services 2 to 3 days per week, with travel time accounted as part of your day, and overnight stays (if necessary) are fully paid.

 

The Role:

  • Lead or contribute to safeguarding reviews, mortality reviews, and serious incident investigations
  • Represent safeguarding and clinical governance at internal committees and leadership meetings
  • Collaborate with external partners including NHS bodies, Local Authorities, and internal stakeholders
  • Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred care and specialist clinical training
  • Maintain robust risk management, CQC/CIW compliance, and quality reporting
  • Contribute to policy development, research, service improvement, and supervision frameworks

 

Criteria:

  • NMC Registered Nurse – RMN or RNLD
  • Level 3 Safeguarding
  • Significant experience in residential, acute or community mental health, learning disability and/or ABI settings
  • Skilled in safeguarding investigations, serious incident reviews, and clinical governance
  • Strong understanding of Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding, Risk Management, and Medication Management
  • Proven experience in delivering training and supervision to multi-disciplinary teams
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
