Location: Jersey

Salary: £85,000 Per Annum + Annual Bonus + Up to £8,000 Relocation Package + Six Months' Accommodation + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Home Manager looking for an opportunity to lead an established elderly care service in Jersey?

Do you have a strong background in nursing, residential and dementia care, with the leadership skills to maintain quality standards, develop teams and drive continuous improvement?

Would you enjoy taking ownership of a service with good foundations, where you can make a visible impact on resident outcomes, staff development and overall operational performance?

Then this could be the opportunity for you.

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established elderly care provider to appoint an experienced Home Manager for one of their care homes in Jersey.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established Home Manager to take overall responsibility for the quality, people, operational and commercial performance of an established nursing and residential care home.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on this progress, embedding strong governance processes, developing the team and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

For candidates relocating from the mainland, a comprehensive relocation package is available, including up to £8,000 towards relocation costs and accommodation paid for up to six months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, values-led leadership across the home.

  • Take overall responsibility for the quality, safety and operational performance of the service.

  • Lead, motivate and develop the management and wider care teams.

  • Maintain strong regulatory compliance, governance and quality standards.

  • Drive continuous improvement across clinical governance, audits and compliance.

  • Strengthen staff supervision, training, development and competency management.

  • Oversee incident and accident reporting, ensuring appropriate investigation and follow-up.

  • Develop effective workforce planning, recruitment and retention strategies.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and reduce agency reliance.

  • Oversee budgets, financial performance and operational expenditure.

  • Build strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure policies and procedures reflect relevant Jersey legislation and regulatory standards.

  • Promote a positive, inclusive and resident-focused culture.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a successful Home Manager within elderly care.

  • Experience managing a nursing, residential or dual-registered care home.

  • Strong understanding of dementia care and the needs of older people.

  • Experience managing a care home with responsibility for quality, compliance and operational performance.

  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, audits and regulatory requirements.

  • A proven track record of maintaining or improving quality standards.

  • Commercially aware, with experience of budgets, staffing and workforce planning.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching and people-development skills.

  • A visible and approachable leadership style, with the ability to build trust quickly.

  • Highly organised, resilient and confident managing competing priorities.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

  • A genuine passion for developing people and delivering excellent resident outcomes.

A nursing qualification is not essential for this position, and applications are welcomed from both clinical and non-clinical Home Managers with a strong background in elderly care.

The Home

  • Established elderly care service in St Peter, Jersey.

  • 37 residents across nursing and residential care.

  • Provides nursing, residential and dementia care.

  • Positive progress recognised at its most recent inspection.

  • Improvements already made across staffing, safeguarding and internal communication.

  • Ongoing focus on strengthening governance, audits and staff development.

  • Established management structure with the opportunity to shape the next stage of the home's development.

  • Opportunity to make a visible difference to quality, culture and operational performance.

Relocation Package

For candidates currently based outside Jersey, the following support is available:

  • Up to £8,000 relocation allowance.

  • Accommodation paid for up to six months.

  • Sponsorship and the necessary licensing arrangements for eligible mainland candidates relocating to Jersey.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Home Manager looking for a new challenge, with the potential to relocate to Jersey and enjoy a fresh start while leading an established care service.
