What’s in it for you?

This is an opportunity to join a well-established, quality-focused elderly care provider, driving meaningful clinical improvement across a diverse regional portfolio.

This is a hands-on, peripatetic clinical governance role — not a desk-based compliance position. You will coach, challenge, and support nursing and management teams to embed sustainable improvement and positively influence CQC outcomes.

  • £50,000 base salary (up to £52,000 for the right nursing profile)

  • £600 per month car allowance

  • Significant autonomy within a supportive governance structure

  • Direct influence on inspection readiness and quality ratings

  • Exposure to services with varied needs — from high-performing to improvement-focused homes

  • Involvement in wider nursing strategy and organisational development projects

The Role

As Quality Support Manager, you will provide clinical oversight and governance support across a geographically dispersed region.

You will work closely with Home Managers, Regional Managers, and nursing teams to identify root causes, implement robust action plans, and strengthen clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting in-depth clinical audits and quality assessments

  • Providing clinical supervision and strengthening nurse competency

  • Preparing homes for CQC inspections and liaising confidently with inspectors

  • Identifying gaps across clinical practice, leadership, and culture

  • Supporting infection control, housekeeping, and nutrition standards

  • Analysing data to track trends and monitor improvement

  • Coaching Home Managers to drive ownership of quality standards

  • Contributing to the development of quality tools and a wider nursing strategy

  • Supporting services requiring improvement while maintaining regional oversight

Working Pattern

  • 4 days per week visiting homes

  • 1 day per week working remotely on reporting, preparation, and project work

  • Regional travel required, with round trips typically between 35–70 miles

What You’ll Need

Essential:

  • Active NMC PIN (RGN)

  • Strong elderly care clinical background

  • Experience as a peripatetic or regional support manager

  • Experience operating within a wider quality/governance team

  • Strong understanding of CQC regulations and inspection frameworks

  • Ability to quickly assess and prioritise across multiple services

  • Confident communicator with inspectors and external professionals

  • Coaching-led leadership style

  • Ability to manage pace, complexity, and significant travel

Desirable:

  • Clinical supervision experience

  • Strong audit and data analysis capability

Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Face-to-face interview including presentation and written scenario-based assessment (SMART responses required)

  • Stage 2: Final Teams interview with the Managing Director
