Are you an experienced Registered Home Manager looking for a long-term opportunity within an established, independent residential care home?

Compass Associates are working with a well-regarded, family-run care home on the Cheshire / Greater Manchester border to recruit an experienced Registered Home Manager.

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for a manager who enjoys working within an independent environment where person-centred care, resident choice and positive risk-taking genuinely sit at the heart of the service.

The Home

The home provides residential care for older people and has a strong reputation for quality, with a highly experienced workforce and some staff having worked within the home for 30–40+ years.

The Role

As Registered Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the leadership, quality, compliance and day-to-day management of the service.

Key responsibilities include:​​​​​​​

• Leading, supporting and developing an established staff team.
• Maintaining strong CQC, safeguarding, compliance and governance standards.
• Completing the home's transition from paper-based processes to its digital care system.
• Reviewing and developing policies, risk assessments, staffing and operational processes.
• Working closely with the existing senior management team while bringing your own ideas and leadership approach.
• Building on the home's existing reputation rather than introducing change for the sake of change.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Registered Home Manager with:

• Previous leadership experience within elderly residential care.
• A Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining Good or Outstanding standards.
• A warm, approachable and collaborative leadership style.
• The confidence to lead a long-standing team and hold people accountable where required.
• An appreciation of working within an independent provider rather than a large corporate structure.
• Career stability and a genuine desire to make a long-term commitment to a Registered Manager position.

A particularly strong Deputy Manager may also be considered where they already operate at Registered Manager level and have the necessary Level 5 qualification and regulatory knowledge.

Location

The home is positioned around the Cheshire / Greater Manchester / Derbyshire border and would be commutable from areas including Stockport, Marple, Disley, High Lane, New Mills, Hazel Grove, Poynton, Macclesfield and surrounding areas.
