This is an opportunity to join a well-established adolescent inpatient service, supporting young people aged 13–18 with a range of complex mental health needs. This role is suitable for RMNs who have completed their Preceptorship and are seeking a meaningful position where they can make a real difference to young people’s lives.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and compassionate care within a busy CAMHS inpatient setting. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care to young people with acute and complex mental health needs
  • Undertaking comprehensive assessments and contributing to care planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Promoting recovery-focused and trauma-informed care approaches
  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to positive team culture and professional development
  • Monitoring, documenting and reporting changes in young people’s presentation and risk
  • Maintaining accurate, timely and legally compliant clinical records
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery

 

 

Candidate Requirements

 

To be considered for this role, you will need:

 

  • A recognised Mental Health Nursing qualification
  • Active NMC registration
  • Completion of your Preceptorship programme
  • Experience working within inpatient mental health settings (NHS or private sector)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A flexible, proactive and self-motivated approach
  • A compassionate, empathetic and professional manner
  • A commitment to high-quality, evidence-based and values-led care
  • An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with children and young people
