Salary: £23.50 per hour | Circa £59,878 per annum
Contracted Hours: 49 hours per week | Day Shifts (7:45am – 8:00pm) | Alternate Weekends Required

Overview

Compass Associates are delighted to be partnering with a well-established elderly care provider in the recruitment of a Registered General Nurse (RGN) for a purpose-built nursing home in Northallerton.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and clinically driven Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering outstanding care to older people. Working as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive the highest standards of nursing care while helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and person-centred environment.

About the Role

As a Registered General Nurse (RGN), you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to residents.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans.
  • Administer medication safely in accordance with NMC guidelines.
  • Monitor residents' physical health and respond promptly to any clinical changes.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider care team, GPs and other healthcare professionals.
  • Support and supervise Care Assistants and Senior Care staff throughout each shift.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with CQC standards.
  • Promote dignity, independence and choice for every resident.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 49 hours per week on day shifts (7:45am – 8:00pm), including alternate weekends.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective and evidence-based nursing care.
  • Undertake clinical assessments and develop personalised care plans.
  • Administer and manage medication safely.
  • Monitor clinical observations and escalate concerns where appropriate.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and clinical documentation.
  • Support residents requiring general nursing, dementia and end-of-life care.
  • Supervise and mentor care staff during each shift.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute towards maintaining an inspection-ready service.

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid NMC PIN.
  • Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
  • Previous experience within an elderly nursing home setting.
  • A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to older people.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Good knowledge of medication management and clinical governance.
  • Understanding of CQC regulations and person-centred care.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
