Are you an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with a passion for working in acute inpatient psychiatry?

Compass Associates is currently recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established Female Acute Inpatient Ward at a prestigious mental health hospital in Bristol. This part-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting women with significant mental health difficulties, and providing care within a well-respected environment.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will take consultant responsibility for the general psychiatry of patients on the 10-bed female acute ward. You will be working closely with a Speciality Doctor and a dedicated multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients referred by the NHS.

About the Role:

• Lead general psychiatry services on a female acute inpatient ward, focusing on patients with significant mental health challenges.
• Take responsibility for patient care, assessments, and treatment plans, working closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
• Supervise junior medical staff and provide leadership to the MDT to ensure high standards of care.
• Collaborate with the MDT, including Speciality Doctors, to provide holistic, coordinated care for patients.
• Lead clinical governance and service improvement initiatives to enhance care quality and ensure evidence-based practices.

Experience & Qualifications

• MRCPsych or equivalent, with CCT (or equivalent) in General Adult Psychiatry.

  AC Approved and S12 Approved under the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Experience working at a consultant level within NHS or similar settings.
• Experience in acute inpatient and outpatient settings, particularly with patients experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
