Registered Manager – Domiciliary Care

Location: Ripley, Derbyshire
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + On-Call Payments
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

 

Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a multi-award-winning, family-run domiciliary care provider to recruit a Registered Manager for their Ripley branch.

 

This is a backfill appointment, offering a structured handover period with the current Registered Manager, making it an excellent opportunity for a confident leader ready to take ownership of an established service with strong foundations and clear growth plans.

 

The Opportunity

The Registered Manager will lead a well-established branch delivering approximately:

  • 1,200 care hours per week

  • Supporting 60 service users

  • Managing a team of 30 contracted carers (all full-time, guaranteed hours)

The role has a strong dual focus:

  • Achieving and sustaining Outstanding CQC compliance standards

  • Growing the private client base alongside existing local authority contracts

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Quality & Governance to elevate standards and strengthen performance across the service.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Ripley branch

  • Apply for and hold CQC Registered Manager status

  • Lead on regulatory compliance, governance and quality improvement

  • Prepare for and manage CQC inspections

  • Drive growth of the private client portfolio

  • Oversee care planning, assessments and ongoing reviews

  • Manage and develop Deputy Manager, Care Quality Manager and Senior Care Coordinator

  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead

  • Oversee rota management and service delivery continuity

  • Share in a 1-in-4 paid on-call rota (weekday evenings and weekends)

Team Structure

 

The Registered Manager will oversee:

  • Deputy Manager

  • Care Quality Manager

  • Senior Care Coordinator (rostering)

  • 30 full-time contracted carers

This is a relatively new leadership structure, offering an opportunity to shape team culture and embed high-performance standards.

 

Candidate Requirements

 

The client is seeking a commercially aware, compliance-driven leader with strong operational capability.

 

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within adult health or social care

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a leadership role

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care (or equivalent)

  • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, MCA and governance

  • Proven ability to manage performance, quality improvement and service delivery

  • Full UK driving licence

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience growing private domiciliary care services

  • Budget and resource management experience

  • Rota management and HR process knowledge

  • Coaching, mentoring or training delivery experience
