Registered Manager – Domiciliary Care Service

 

Location: Runcorn
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000
 

Are you an experienced and resilient care professional looking for a hands-on leadership challenge? We are seeking a Registered Manager to take ownership of a domiciliary care service in Runcorn, leading a period of stabilisation and quality improvement.

The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will:

  • Lead the turnaround and stabilisation of a service delivering around 1,250 care hours per week.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations including recruitment, rotas, scheduling, auditing and compliance.

  • Provide hands-on leadership during the first 3–6 months, including participating in on-call and delivering care where necessary.

  • Strengthen processes around care planning, safeguarding, staff development and quality assurance.

  • Support a mixed team of both experienced and newly recruited staff, rebuilding confidence and consistency.

  • Work closely with senior leadership, with direct involvement and support from the CEO.

  • Transition into a more strategic Registered Manager position once the service is fully stabilised.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both experience and the right mindset. You should have:

  • Experience as a Registered Manager within domiciliary care.

  • Demonstrable success in turnaround, troubleshooting or stabilising services.

  • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification (or willingness to enrol immediately).

  • Strong resilience and problem-solving skills.

  • A hands-on, proactive leadership approach, including willingness to support with care and on-call.

  • A passion for safe, high-quality care and building positive team culture.

Attitude, commitment and ability to lead by example are key to success in this role.
