Registered Veterinary Nurse – No Weekends or OOH! Independent Practice

Up to £38,000 DOE

Full Time | Permanent | 4-day week

Islington, London

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to join a friendly independent practice where you can genuinely develop your clinical skills, without sacrificing your work-life balance?

This growing independent practice in Islington is looking for an RVN to join its small and supportive clinical team.

You'll be joining a practice with a lovely client base and a varied caseload, including routine consultations and surgery alongside more advanced cases such as lump removals, ophthalmic procedures and medical work-ups — and importantly, you'll enjoy a role with no weekend or out-of-hours commitments.

The practice is also undergoing an exciting period of refurbishment and expansion, with a brand-new second site planned for next year. This will create additional consultation space, holding facilities and a dedicated hydrotherapy and rehabilitation area, giving the team even more scope to develop their services and nursing opportunities.

The Role

This is a varied nursing role combining clinical, client-facing and general practice responsibilities.

You'll be involved across the full patient journey, including:

  • Anaesthesia and patient monitoring

  • Surgical preparation and support

  • Inpatient nursing and medical care

  • Diagnostics and laboratory work

  • Client communication and discharge

  • Consulting and preventative healthcare

  • Supporting the wider team with the day-to-day running of the practice

An interest in anaesthesia would be particularly welcomed, although the team is open to nurses with a range of clinical interests. Rehabilitation is another area that could develop as the practice expands, with a dedicated hydrotherapy and rehabilitation facility planned as part of the new site.

The practice is keen to support nurses who want to continue developing clinically, including those looking to undertake a certificate or build experience in a particular area of nursing.

As the practice continues to grow, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new services and help shape how the nursing team evolves.

The practice sees a mixture of routine and more advanced cases, with services including consultations, surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory work and day hospitalisation.

There is also potential for the expansion to support further services such as chemotherapy, creating exciting opportunities for the team and individual nurses to develop their own clinical interests as the practice grows.

The Team & Culture

The team is small, friendly and supportive, with a genuine focus on providing high-quality care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

They're open to nurses with different levels of experience. An experienced RVN would be welcomed, but a less experienced nurse with the right attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn will also be considered.
