Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 DOE

OVERVIEW:
Compass Associates are working with National charity that aims to improve the lives of people with brain injuries in the UK. With assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals. Clients receive expert neuro rehabilitation and support to regain the skills they have lost. People with a range of brain injuries are supported – sustained through trauma, illness, substance abuse and more – to recover and meet their personal goals. ROLE:
We are looking for a Senior Specialist SaLT who wants to develop their experience by working in a highly regarded service in Birmingham; providing strategic, professional leadership to the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work as autonomous speech and language therapist within your multidisciplinary team
- Assess how a person’s communication impacts on their day to day life and provide intervention as appropriate.
- Work with the person and their social network to problem solve and overcome barriers.
- Assess communication and provide a management plan and rehabilitation (as appropriate) seeking specialist assessments as required
- Provide training to staff and our service users social network
- Be integral to service and organisational development.
CANDIDATE REQS/QUALS:
- The successful applicant will have a Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Registered with the HCPC
- Achieved Dysphagia Competencies
- Specialist knowledge of SaLT models and interventions in ABI e.g. social communication, cognitive communication, communication partner training.
- Able to manage complex dysphagia within an adult neurology caseload
- Minimum 4 years qualified experience encompassing complex case management
