Regional Support Manager | Family Run | Elderly Care Provider

Midlands  - UK-Wide Travel

Salary    £60,000 - £70,000 per annum DOE + Benefits

Are you an experienced care home leader looking for a regional role where you can support managers, improve standards and drive operational performance across a growing portfolio?

Do you have the credibility to support and challenge Home Managers, identify areas for improvement and ensure high standards of care across multiple services?

Would you like the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership within an ambitious, family-owned elderly care provider?

Then this could be the opportunity for you.

We are partnering with an established and expanding elderly care provider to appoint a Regional Support Manager to support its portfolio of care homes across England.

The organisation currently operates 8 elderly care homes, comprising residential, dementia and nursing services, with further acquisitions planned throughout 2027 that could increase the portfolio to approximately 11 homes.

With occupancy currently sitting at approximately 96% and a strong regulatory track record, the organisation is investing in its operational infrastructure to support continued growth and maintain high standards across its services.

This role will provide hands-on support to Home Managers, helping services maintain compliance, improve performance and deliver consistently high-quality care.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Director, Operations Managers and Registered Managers, providing practical guidance, identifying risks and supporting improvement across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support and guidance to Home Managers across the care home portfolio.

  • Undertake regular visits to assess service performance, care standards and operational effectiveness.

  • Support CQC compliance, quality assurance, audits and regulatory readiness.

  • Review safeguarding concerns, incidents, falls, medication management, complaints and care documentation.

  • Identify areas for improvement and work with Home Managers to implement effective action plans.

  • Support services experiencing operational difficulties, staffing challenges or declining performance.

  • Monitor key performance indicators, occupancy, staffing levels and agency usage.

  • Provide coaching, mentoring and practical support to Home Managers and senior staff.

  • Support recruitment, retention, staff development and management performance.

  • Work with senior leadership to monitor performance and escalate significant concerns.

  • Ensure policies, procedures and group standards are consistently implemented.

  • Support the delivery of safe, person-centred care across residential, dementia and nursing services.

Acquisitions & Growth

A key element of this role will be supporting the organisation's continued expansion.

With further acquisitions planned, the Regional Support Manager will:

  • Support newly acquired homes during transition and integration.

  • Assess operational standards, staffing, compliance and service performance.

  • Identify risks and implement prioritised improvement plans.

  • Support Home Managers in adopting group policies, procedures and systems.

  • Help embed consistent standards across existing and newly acquired services.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure growth does not compromise care quality or operational performance.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working across different services, adapting to individual needs and providing support wherever it is most required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are interested in experienced care leaders who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in elderly residential, dementia or nursing care.

  • Proven experience managing a care home or supporting multiple services.

  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, compliance and quality assurance.

  • Experience improving care standards and operational performance.

  • The ability to identify risks and implement effective improvement plans.

  • Experience supporting, mentoring and challenging Home Managers.

  • A sound understanding of staffing, occupancy, budgets and resource management.

  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.

  • Confidence working with senior leadership and frontline teams.

  • Flexibility to travel nationally and stay overnight when required.

A Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification would be preferred, particularly given the organisation's nursing provision, but relevant operational leadership experience across elderly care will also be important.

Candidates may currently be operating as a:

  • Regional Support Manager

  • Regional Manager

  • Area Manager

  • Peripatetic Manager

  • Operations Manager

  • Senior Home Manager

  • Multi-site Registered Manager

  • Confident supporting and challenging Home Managers.

  • Able to balance operational performance with resident well-being.

  • Flexible and responsive to the changing needs of individual services.

  • Comfortable working within a growing, entrepreneurial, family-owned organisation.

This is a hands-on regional role with significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence standards and performance across the group.
